Who are we?

A dynamic team of dedicated scientists and technical staff full of energy to perform innovative research projects. We are eager to foster interdisciplinary activities linking fundamental and applied research.

What are we doing?

Broadly, we are interested in zoology and functional morphology of vertebrates. Our research concerns the evolution, function and development of the vertebrate body plan through deep time. Main projects involve the patterns and mechanisms underlying the evolution of the vertebral column, the form-function relationships in the limbs as well as the evolutionary history of dentition.

Where to find us?

We are based at Kiel University (Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel) on the shore of the Baltic Sea in Northern Germany.
